As a parent/caregiver, how can you increase your child's love of reading at Ryon's age? As Ryon stated in the video, he found that reading romantic comedies during the pandemic was something he picked up from his mom. You can show that you enjoy reading and give suggestions for stories and books of different genres. As an educator, asking students what they would like to read and write about is helpful to spark an interest, and also continue to stick to books, writing assignments, and tasks that students will most likely see in the mainstream academic setting, which will ultimately prepare them and not surprise them when a less exciting book comes their way.
